At 4pm, it’s still 95 degrees outside, I’m pretty much done working for the day and I’d like to take the kids to the beach. But we’re not going, because my daughter left all of her bathing suits at her mom’s house and I’m too lazy to drive over there (it would be an hour back and forth).
It would be easier to go to Target and pick up a new suit. But I know they don’t have any more in her size, because we picked up the last one in the store two weeks ago.
Why are the summer clothes gone from all of the stores before summer is over? I ask myself this same kind of question several times a year, and I’m sorry for the rant, but the retail calendar drives me nuts! I swear they’ll have Halloween decorations out any day now.
I think there should be a chain of niche stores that stock seasonal items for the whole season. So you could still buy mittens in March. Or sandals in September. Or maybe even bathing suits in August.
