Idea of the Day: Waterproof pockets

water parkMy friend Joan recently told me about her experience at Six Flags with her boys, and her inconvenience of not being able to access money easily while going through the water park. I related my own similar experience from Canobie Lake park, which also has water rides. In both of these cases you wouldn’t want to carry your wallet, cash or credit cards around because they would end up getting soaked.

Instead, you would end up leaving that stuff in a rented locker, halfway across the park. “To make a purchase,” Joan told me, “I had to go to the locker to get my money and then return to the locker to put away the change.” That’s a pain.

How to solve the problem? Put waterproof pockets in bathing suits. You could use the product shown in this picture as a model for development.

Waterproof bag

Heading to the lake, the beach or the water park? No problem. Take your cash with you. Stop for an ice cream, then get right back to the surf. Enjoy!

Yeah, I thought about that, and realize that it would have to be an inside, small (‘discreet’) pocket to accommodate bikinis, etc. Prototyping would be fun, to learn about fit, feel, functionality, etc…

Looks like a great solution but how do you make it a bit “sexier” for women?
