Idea of the Day: the “Stupid Idea” show

I spent last night on a plane from Columbus to New York cracking on stupid ideas with inventor Emil Jacob (founder of Pad ‘n Click). Some of the ideas we harshed on were our own, of course (let’s face it, you’ve probably had that reaction to my posts, from time to time). And fortunately we were at no loss for raw material. You see, we were on US Air and had the Sky Mall catalog at our disposal. Many good laughs were had.

Seriously, have you ever looked through that catalog? They do have some neat stuff, like Myvu glasses, but on the other hand you’ll find lots of stuff like the bug vacuum, Head Spa Massager, a “Lip-Plumper” rubber ball and “Shape Up Pads” that give you a nice looking butt.

We decided that the best way to understand these products would be through a mash-up sitcom. It would go like this: A total nerd gets excited for “Sky Mall” day and spends his afternoon preparing for a hot date. He tries to impress the attractive lady friend with a portable espresso machine and pool tether, but it all backfires. Still, he manages to arouse her amorous side, and when it comes time to move beyond the first kiss his hottie loses her girdle, her lips deflate, the ass-pads come out and she transforms into a bearded, toothless hag.
