Here’s why LinkedIn should have auto-detection software like Digg, which keeps people from posting the same article multiple times:
Since I am so focused on Internet Marketing right now (about to launch Free Marketing Made Easy) I have become more aware than ever before about some smart techniques for smart blogging and community building. Consequently, I spend a lot of time reviewing blogs and participating in small business conversations.
LinkedIn is a natural platform for this kind of stuff. But there’s a problem, called rampant self-promotion. I joined a few new entrepreneurship groups recently, only to find that a majority of the posts overlap. They aren’t from people who are looking for help, or hoping to make genuine connections. These posts come from people who are clearly trying to drive business to their own websites. So they join multiple groups and post the same article to each one.
LinkedIn could easily solve this problem by implementing the kind of intelligence that Digg uses. And that would create a better, more engaged forum since we wouldn’t have to wade through the ’same old’ to get to the good stuff.
