Email Your Blog (and don't forget the link)

There are lots of things you can do with your blog:

  1. The obvious one is to post it to your site and include RSS links so readers can receive new updates automatically.
  2. Another way to distribute it in audio format, like some of the samples we’ve published on iTunes recently.
  3. You can also create video blog entries, like Denise Wakeman’s Business Blogging Video Tips.
  4. A 4th way is to email your post, as a standalone communication or as part of your newsletter. This may be a ‘low-tech’, ‘old-school’ approach but many people still appreciate it. In your niche, they may even prefer it (a simple way to find out would be to ask…).

But here’s some simple advice: if you choose to email your blog, be sure to include a link (as show below):

Why should you link your blog (or article) back to your website? Because some people will want to share it on Twitter, Facebook and/or LinkedIn.

I know this might sound obvious, but I still receive many emails with articles that I can’t share through social media, because I can’t find them on the originating website. Don’t let that happen to you…
